The water from Turkey arrived in the Esentepe Village early yesterday morning.
Deep joy!

Thought so Art, wonder how long it will take to get out of the habit of turning the tap on every couple of hours to see if we got a dribble coming through?

On a more serious note- dispite the problems it's a remarkable achievement which will benefit so many people.
Well done to everyone involved with the project.

If they can afford the 4K+ YTL start up cost for a meter/pipe from Esentepe Mayor. Not for us, thank you.

Just can't see him getting away with this Tom.
Next few weeks will be interesting to say the least.
Good luck with your campaign.

Tom, stupid question of the day - but why not - can you ask the mayor to just continue giving you Cyprus water at the old rate or can he provide proof that the only water he will supply from now on will ONLY come from Turkey???

waddo, we live within the Esentepe municipality, however, the Mayor does not provide us with water. Our tanker supplier lives in the next village east, which belongs to Tatlisu municipality. The Esentepe Mayor is attempting extortion - I want him to prosecute me, and then I'll counter-sue him on a criminal charge. Incidentally, I love living here.

tomsteel.......Have a property on a complex in Esentepe, which is currently supplied by tanker for the pools and domestic use. Hearing rumours that the municipality will be stopping ALL tanker drivers operating in the area, thus forcing sites to take up Turkish water at a great expense to all owners.
Not sure if any of this is correct, but if there is a grain of truth in this then owners should be made aware....
Would appreciate any advice\update on this.

Michael, I can only offer two approaches:
Contact your advocat for the legal opinion on the Mayor's right to prevent tanker delivery.
Go to the Belediye and ask to see the Mayor to discuss your thought as to what he is stating.
We are sticking with tanker deliveries.
