Can anybody tell me where I can get my car tax renewed in girne/kyrenia

The main tax office is behind the Girne state hospital, if you enter via the front door you then go to the office area on your left, the vehicle tax desk is just inside on your left, did ours last week only took 2 minutes very impressed.

Ours is due in November. I heard that the govt is abolishing road tax and is putting up the price of petrol to make up the difference (and a bit more, I suspect). Does anyone know if and when this is likely to happen? Is it true that some locals have not renewed their tax in anticipation of this new law?

Someone said there woul be a north/south agreement in 2004!

Dont believe all you hear especially if there is a new goverment.

Rumour a few months ago was car tax would be abolished and price of petrol etc increased.

I suggest you pay tax due in November, beacuse as sure as eggs are eggs the tax will be abolished a week later!

Thats how it normallyworks for me.

Just bought a new car, asked the dealer about tax being abolished next year - he said no one knows for sure in the trade but that is the rumour going around.

I had thought to maybe just tax the car for 6 months this time around because of the rumour, but my TC friends all said that nothing will happen for 1 year at least.
