Driving back to the UK

I am considering driving back to the uk in a TRNC plated car.

I have a sneaking feeling that this is not possible due to the non recognition of the TRNC.

Would appreciate it if someone knows what the situation is. I know I can check with the authorities tomorrow but if someone know the answer today it would be helpful.

certainly you (your car) will be refused entry to bulgaria and greece, maybe some other neighbour greek orthodox countries as well , as mazedonia, serbia...

you may can take the ferry from Turkey and get entryy to EU via italy.
it was done years ago, to germany (and back).
how the situation is now... no idea.
as you are "in Schengen countries", next border for you would be then france-uk, if you do not want to visit switzerland...
how the UK handles that, no idea.

KAR Pet Travel have had several owners drive their pets back to the UK in TRNC plated cars - why not email them and ask if they could pass on your details to an owner who has done it so they can share their experiences/tips.

Hi, I wanted to drive back for my move to Prague last year but found too may obstacles. No firm would insure me for a TRNC plated car, and I could not get a straight answer from the embassy on entering Bulgaria etc. The alternative shipping from the South to UK, was made difficult too as the car had to be de-registered before shipment, and met by me at the other end to collect and get taxed, it looked like moving it on a trailer was the legal answer from the port. So I sold it in TRNC and bought again after the move.

Karmels - no - i can assure you that KAR Pet Travel has had individual owners with TRNC registered vehicles who have driven back to the UK with their pets in their TRNC registered cars and once in the UK have re registered their TRNC vehicles.
