Anyone interested in harvesting olives from 3.5 olive trees for a couple litres of the oil? P.M me for details.

From my experience (my own and several friends with olive trees) it works the other way. They will pick the olives and give you a couple of litres of oil for each tree.
3.5 trees will take 2 people at least 2 days to properly harvest and the final product will depend on the quantity and quality of the olives. That can only be fully assessed after they are processed and the oil tasted at the factory.

Thanks JBA. Just don't want to see them go to waste.

the last "old style cold" press facility i know was in upper karsiyaka.
it was a lot of work...
for now, ask the guy at the zeytin yag fabrikasi to add cold water only to your olive mash...

All modern Cyprus olive mills count as 'cold pressing' & all built to an EU standard. The use tepid water about 28C around the machinery to help release the oil from the water & the pith. We have found the best ones at Yenicekoy & Karsiyaka.
