After a long period of time when there have been no reports of poisoning in Karsiyaka, I regret to inform that Ahmet the muhtar told me today that a hunter who was exercising his dogs, to prepare for the upcoming hunting season, has had his dogs poisoned. It happened in the area just West of Selvi Village and Ahmet believes the culprit lives in Gecitkoy. The dogs survived and are now OK. I have no information other than that at the moment. Please be careful if you walk your dogs in that area. I will follow up with Ahmet to see what, if anything, can be done to prevent this happening again.

Thanks for the information Mark. There were also 2 dogs killed at the back of Kayalar 2 days ago, it seems there was a trail of poisoned meat between gecitkoy and Kayalar. The Lapta hunting group have been to see the shepherd who they believe to be responsible and have warned him that should any more dogs be killed in the area, there will be consequences. He also lives in Gecitkoy. I'm afraid I don't know any more details.

I suppose it's a fair assumption that the same person may be responsible for both these incidents.
