From Cyprus Today:

The annual 11-day hunting season gets underway today and every Sunday until end of year. They will also be out for the last time on Wednesday, 28 December. Hunting should not take place within 200 metres of housing or 500 metres of reservoirs and dams and only between sunrise and sunset.

Well they were out shooting before sunrise near me this morning so situation normal

Yesterday afternoon we found a common pheasant, also called a ring neck pheasant, strutting about the back of our garden. It was a brightly coloured cock bird of about two years old max in very good condition. It must of known that the shooting season is about to start. We managed to catch it and box it up. It is now in an aviary in the far West being looked after by a young conservationist waiting to be released in January along with some other birds he has rescued.

Once again the assassins will be on the loose on Wednesdays and Sundays until the end of the year - shooting at anything that moves or flies. When will these dreadful people join the modern day world and realise that they should be conserving the dwindling wildlife, not completely wiping it out

They can come in our Garden and shoot as many Foxes as they like.

I'll pay them a 100 lira a head.
