I have recently heard about this device and it looks interesting, but does anyone know if it actually works here?

yes it does i brought mine over from uk and powered it up no probs films all day long.

I could not get it to work with BBC iplayer. Ooops, ignore that! It was Chrome cast I was talking about!!! Sorry.

So will it work without a VPN?

I just had to cancel my Netflix subscription as they began to detect proxy servers (VPN's) and would not allow me access.

BBCiplayer was the same.

Had to also cancel the VPN as it had absolutely no benefits without those 2 programmes.

If Amazon Firestick works without VPN that would be brilliant for me

If you load kodi and one of the programmes that allow access to free sprot & TV
Read the Kodi thread son uses Firestick with kodi and very happy I use android box with kodi

I have just brought out a firestick and a chrome cast, we haven't used them yet but will update when we do

Buy the Amazon Fire TV it has more memory so buffering is less of a problem here in the TRNC, it also has other features. As advised download Kodi
