IS THIS RECOGNITION OF SORTS ?

Have received 2 communications from HM Revenue & Customs . One giving me new Tax Code, the other an old still being hounded for so called underpayment in 2008/9. Their mistake, my circumstances entirely unchanged since 2005 when Gov. Pension kicked in. Still that is another story. However during so called negotiations re dispute when they said "you live in the Republic of Cyprus". No and I perhaps rather forcefully pointed out Mersin 10 Turkey was the postal address of the TRNC

Both communications addressed -
Mrs Angela Bizley
PO BOX......
Mersin 10
Turkish Rep of North Cyprus.
So at least 1 Government department acknowledges the TRNC as existing.

Expect backlash if and when GCs find out TRNC being an address used by UK Government Dept .

Hope its not just me and that HMRC are now addressing all Mersin 10 Turkish Rep of North Cyprus for everyone.

As I understand TRNC should not be seen in your address .. Only Turkey ..
Hence your address would be ..

Mrs Angela Bizley
PO BOX......
Mersin 10
Turkey ..

Not quite as many people know as you would like to think ..
Putting TRNC in the address was the reason a lot of mail never arrived at its' intended destination ..

I do not agree with you Harita. I have always been using KKTC after my address, and then Mersin 10. And I have got all my mail, so far

I could be wrong, but I think the point that Mel is trying to make is, that to address correspondence to somewhere, you have to acknowledge that such a place exists otherwise what is the point?

So, to address correspondence to the TRNC, is to recognise that it exists, even if it is only by one UK government department.

But hopefully, it,s a start.
