Ozankoy butcher

Hi,
We have just devoured two juicy rump steaks (25 TL) purchased from the butcher in our village. I must admit I was sceptical because they were quite Red however, they were tender and tasty. Actually I think it was the way I cooked them but never mind, good value.

I went there a couple of days ago and bought some gammon steaks and cold ham...both were delicious. Will be back even tho it's a fair drive from Karsiyaka. Well worth the effort.

I was a bit disappointed, the sausage was ok but the bacon was so salty, had to throw it away, not tried anything else yet

Nearly next door to the muhtarlik. There is a carpark just down the side road from there.

Beware the car park is often full of non-butcher's customers cars. You may have a small walk, but - well worth it. Usef , is highly competent, knowledgeable and has excellent English/customer service skills. We travel from 8 kms east of Esentepe on a twice weekly basis to buy there.

Only discovered this butcher a couple of weeks ago and so far very impressed. Had a joint of topside last week and it was very tender and full of flavour. Tried his saugases last night, pork & leek and Cumberland and they were very good. Best saugages we have had here.

Hi Everyone, yes Yusuf had this butchers before Steve (Steve took it when Yusuf was in the UK), it was Yusuf`s Father`s butchers before that

Dave G, sorry to hear you were disappointed, try the bacon again if you`re passing, there was a particularly salty batch but the curing has been fine tuned Tell Yusuf his missus promised you a replacement pack - I`ll tell him to expect you if he sees you We value all feedback

Called in today, very impressed! Got some good quality stewing steak, and a couple of complimentary kidneys were thrown in. Some lovely bacon, and a joint of topside. Would have bought more but had to reign myself in a bit. Everything looked great, well presented, very clean shop, and Yusuf was very welcoming and obliging. Will definitely go back...will be trying the French Trimmed Rack of Lamb I think. I am sure this business will do well as they understand the way Brits like their meat.

Does the little bus from town go near there? I need to order my meat for Christmas.

madeincyprus, I've no idea where you live or whether a bus/dolmus goes anywhere near the shop. Could not a neighbour take you? If you live east of Girne, my wife and I would take you to the shop so you can order.

Wow! Bought lamb and mint sausages, Cumberland sausages, real ham and fillet steaks from here, and everything was superb. I'm a super fussy sausage eater, and these were just beautiful. Will definitely be returning, even though we live in Yesiltepe.

Cooked the topside joint yesterday that I got from Yusuf.....it is the absolute best I have ever managed to get in TRNC, very tender and tasty. I think Yusuf will do very well.....may have to expand and take on more staff at this rate.....lol. Very best of luck to him.

I have just cooked 2 pork chops that I bought earlier this afternoon and they were superb. Definitely the best that I have bought in Cyprus, both on this side and the south. They had lovely flavour and were very moist. Thank you Yusuf!
