As you may be aware KAR has, for some time, been running a very successful Education Programe for schools in the TRNC. The dedicated and experienced KAR Education Team are often invited into schools to work with the children and teach them the many aspects of animal awareness and care.

The children that the Education Team are interacting with are the future of the TRNC - hopefully because of this specific programe the future of animals here in the TRNC will also be greatly improved. ... Here is a report following a recent school visit from the KAR Education Team.

KAR Education Team visit GAU infant School

During the second week in October, the KAR Education Team spent some time with four classes of 4 year olds. This was at the end of Animal Care Week, during which the school had made a wonderful collection of food for the cats and dogs at the Rescue Centre.
The Team did some interactive exercises with the children, to help them understand about caring for cats and dogs, and how to stay safe around dogs.

On behalf of KAR, the Education Team would like to say a very big 'thank you' to the teachers and parents who organised, and contributed to, the food donations, and of course to the children, who were so enthusiastic and such fun to work with.

Brilliant work being done by KAR, you are quite right in that the care of animals in the future lies with the children of today.......

Cpngratulations Education Team. I have seen the amount of work that goes into one of these visits, no two schools are the same and each visit has to be prepared individually. It was the pressure by children to parents and grand parents that really helped cut down smoking in the USA and hopefully it will have the same effect on animal welfare in the TRNC in the future.
