Help needed with generator

We have a Yamaha 7000E 5.7KW petrol generator which we purchased new in early 2006 in Lefkosa at the motorbike shop (as was). It has given us great service with very little maintenance (none) by me. It still works although the battery start-up packed up about five years ago and I've relied on the drawstring. I believe it needs a good service and sorting out. My car mechanic came to have a look, but baulked at taking it back to his workshop when he felt the weight of it. Is there anyone out there who specialises in generators and can work on site rather than taking it away. Failing that, any advice would be appreciated.

Here a little tip for you when you get it sorted. Always turn the petrol tap off and let the engine use the fuel in the carb. So many small engines suffer from stale petrol in the carb blocking jets etc.

Hi

We can help. The guy we use to repair and service our generators is located a few doors down from our office in Catalkoy and will perform a service on site. He doesn't speak much English though so if you want us to arrange it for you, give me a bell on 05428862332 or alternatively you can reach him directly on Unsal 05338271727.

Hope this is of some help

Kind regards
