Problems in Mr Pound

I was wondering if anyone had been stopped from going into Mr Pound in Kyrenia today. Went in today with my family and we're told by a very rude young man that we could not go in as we had bags from other shops with us and If we wanted to we would have to leave them outside. We have been shopping in Mr Pound most weeks for 3 years and have never had this problem. We went upstairs to talk to the manager and he said no we could go into the shop with our bags, so we did and within 1 minute another member of staff told us to leave. No not being funny but there were other people in there with bags, and non of them were being asked to leave. It seemed a bit like we were being targeted. One very angry shopper indeed.

It used to be the practice in the 1001 shop in Girne but they did provide racks by the tills for you to leave bags, I dont imagine staff are making the rules up sounds like a manager sending out mixed messagers.

Is this a sign the EVIL propaganda coming from the E.U. is having an influence on T.R.N.C businesses ? unless Mr Pound explains why certain types people are getting preferential access to their stores then DON't shop there, plenty of other places to shop north or south. Be interesting to know if any of Mr Pounds other shops (they own several different types of stores ) are operating in the same way ?

Having been involved in retail for many years I suspect it is all to do with shoplifting,or stealing. Unfortunately the innocent suffer . No excuse for rudeness though.

I suspect Cambridge is correct. Shoplifting is fast becoming an epidemic here according to local shop keepers I know. Don't forget, you are stopped in Carfore (Spelling) and asked to put all but your handbag in a locker. Charge 1 Euro, which you get back. Doesn't matter what shop is advertised on the bags, if its large enough to put stuff in, then the Security man points you to the lockers. At least thats our experience.

Recall returning a airosol that was faulty about two weeks after purchase . What a carry on. Passed from person to person and told it had to be returned within a few days if faulty. Often compare north to south, but regards to customer service the south are light years ahead. Unfortunately in my experience when an item is sold in the north there is a great reluctance to refund money!

Just get better, a friend of mine went to Mr Pound today and was told that she would have to leave her bags outside. Her husband walked in less then a minute after her with bags and a large backpack and nothing was said. And before you ask yes he is a Cypriot. Making me so upset to be honest.
