importing a boat into TRNC

Im planning on bringing my old boat over from UK when I send my containerised stuff over probably next year. Its an old 16 foot boat with no inboard engine, just a 'float around' basically, with the ability to slot a small outboard on if required.
Am I likely to be charged TAX for an old boat that is worth 400-500 quid at most?

Hi. Yes you will have to pay tax on the inport, the main thing is a water licence, you will have to register the boat with the harbour master and pay a yearly fee to be on the water. The boat will be given a number which must be displayed on the side, you will have to fly a TRNC flag at all times when on thew water. If you intend to fish you will have to buy a fishing licence from the kimakamlik. the coast guard to check all these from time to time.

Sorry for the delay, I don't think your water licence will be to much , it goes on the leanth x width.
I have had a large motor boat for 15 years only sold it 2 years ago it was 10.5 mtrs x 5 mtrs and the yearly cost was 265 USD yes it is charged or was in USD then changed into TL. The fishing licence is also expensive but I don't know the cost today. As always to run a boat anywere it is a drain on the bank account. Even your small boat will have to have life jackets first aid, on the first inspection they like to see these, after that there is no check by the harbour master, but if you are out at sea the coast guard could stop you and they check every thing.
Hope this has been of some help, you could always go to see the harbour master in the New Harbour, he is in the building as you go through the gate take the first turn left, the office is at the end of the road the office is one floor up and to the right.
