daylight saving time

I have been reading various articles on this and I hope its not insulting anyone by creating a post.

Personally after having a summer of rising early to ensure my work tasks are out the way by the time the sun has risen and its just too hot, topping up sleep during the day and going out again in the evening to complete my tasks before nightfall. I am finding it lovely to feel 'normal' wake at 7am and off to work 8 to 8:30, noticed traffic is slightly heavier but also coming home after 7 hours its still light and and enables me time to do things at home.

I feel I must be a small majority judging on strikes but seeing the amount of cars on the road after dark it can not all be down to the danger of driving in the dark.

I cannot see the point of striking etc., just adjust your body clock and get on with your lives. Its like these people who say it takes them 3 or 4 days to get over the difference in time of flying from UK back here. Crackers, change the time on your watch and carry on. Yet another reason for having a day off it seems to me and lord only knows they have enough of them!!

Also blaming the terrible accident on the clocks not changing. I crossed over the mountain road yesterday morning at the same time as the accident happened a few days ago and it was light.

Probably a large majority of those going on demos are students that drive like maniacs I see on phones and judging by the accidents each week in the paper where they give ages of people in accidents they should pause for thought. As a driver surely you are taught to drive according to surroundings, that doesn't take anything away from those poor students that lost their lives.

How do they think we cope in the UK where it's starting to get light at 8 and dark again at 4? Personally I'd love lighter evenings and as others have said you just adjust!

And I love the lighter evenings, it's lovely to be dog walking at 5pm as the sun is beginning to go down. The down side is waiting an extra hour for TV programmes and hubby's football, but more than happy to put up with that. xx

Agree re the footies. Im indoors settled down to watch his beloved Arsenal at 10.45 last night. At least he's in a good mood this morning but a little sleepy.
