Thank goodness for undercover shopping malls lol
What do you all do with your time in this rare dull stormy weather ?

And I recorded on my calendar in January this year we had a real feel of minus 15 ! I guess we just forget past weather unless it's written down somewhere.

Light an open fire if you have one, for the look and comfort as welll as heat.
Do all the housework and paperwork that gets neglected when the garden or pool calls in better weather. Polish mirror, picture glass and any silverware or brass and copper. Surprising how much brighter it makes the house seem.
Clean and tidy cupboards and drawers and put anything not used or worn for a year in a bag for Charity. Boring but it will give you a lovely glow of satisfaction and make life easier in future
Do some sewing and mending
Read a book or do a crossword, Tidy up bookshelves and either re read or put aside for Charity anything you for got you had!
Listen to the radio
Plan planting for the garden in Spring and look up ideas in books or on the internet.
Send emails to friends neglected and tidy up and file in and sent boxes
Tidy up and file photographs
Visit or at least phone or text someone you know who is on their own and lonely or not well. Remember what HM said about small acts of kindness
Offer your assistance to a Charity.
Try a new recipe
Learn a language (Turkish?) or revise and practice one you already know.
Buy an umbrella and wellies.
I can understand penury, loneliness, misery, depression and acute anxiety.. Boredom ,except posssibly in the seriously ill or disabled, or just stupid, is not necessary

No matter how hard I tried it was a bit difficult to occupy my brain when I knew that water was running down the inside walls of my bedroom. Had a bloke on the roof this morning and would you believe it, the answer was simple, nothing major at all, just blocked down pipes. Because we live on an unmade up road, we had so much dust in the summer and the down pipes were blocked solid for about a foot down from the top. A quick poke and out rushed a couple of gallons of gunge on to the bottom terrace. We have a super bloke from Guzelyet to do our work. I asked what it had been like there and he said that G had received 50cm of water in 24hours whereas Alsancak to Girne had received 125cm in same period. Bit of difference there then!!

I do hope he meant
mm - in Pounds, shillings and pence ( ), 50cm and 125cm are respectively about 20 inches and 50 inches of rain..... (Send for Noah!!)

My experience is that usually this sort of weather starts on 1st January - it was just a couple of weeks early this year - and continues until March or April, though perhaps not often quite so violent and with sunny breaks.. And every year there is flooding , particularly in Lefkosa - let us hope that since it started late it will stop earlier!
We do also occasionally get snow - though usually it stays in the mountain tops, there is an iconic photo of snow covering the chairs of the Kybele at Bellapaise and I woke up one morning in the 90s to snow on the orange trees outside my window.
btw it hailed in Ozankoy yesterday

Wow! - You've done well to find that, I must say!
£85 per person return? - that's fantastic!
Would you mind saying how or where you found it? - I mean, was it through a travel agent, or an online facility? - and which one?
What was the luggage allowance ?
This could be really helpful information for other forum users...

Flight distance London to Larnaca approx 2040 miles, Manchester/Liverpool to Larnaca approx 2160 miles - roughly 6% more....
Cheapest prices I can find for similar dates? Anything from 120% more and heading upwards......

You will need to bring suitable shoes and clothes for rainy cold weather.
Quite unusual I know however be prepared. We have had another horrendous stormy windy wet night.

April is an uncertain month , weather wise, just as it is in England but hopefully with a little bit more sun! But as Kiplet says you need to be prepared for rain.
The good news is that in April the Island will be green and yellow after the rains, and many of the beautiful Spring flowers will still be out .
The sun has just come out here (noon local time) but the sky is still cloudy
PS To some extent it does depend on where you are. Quite often for instance it can be raining in Girne (Kyrenia) and brilliant sunshine in the nearby villages or vice versa and it also depends on which side of the mountains.
