Hello,
I wrote a long post earlier to ask for advice on various issues but it didn't post for some reason so I'll just say a quick hello for now and write later again. We are a family of five including a 2 year old a 3 month old twins and will be relocating from West Sussex to TRNC in Feb or March

Welcome to the forum.
Just a tip...If you write a longish post just make sure you copy it then paste it again after the page updates after trying to post.
The damn thing times you out after a short time and you lose all your work.
I think the forum constantly refreshes itself on a regular basis.....Hope this makes sense.

Welcome to the forum, and a tip - when writing a post (or reply), do it in notepad,
not in the post/post reply box; once you've completed writing,
then copy and paste into the post reply box and submit. Due to a quirk in this forum's software, it "times out" and while you may be connected when you start writing in the box, by the time you finish and press submit - you've been cut off, and your message is gone and lost forever!
When I first joined, I cursed a few times before I realised.....

What area will you be living? Good luck and let us know how you are getting on with the plans.

You can also use the "back" button to retrieve your message and press submit again straightaway, but, for some people it may not work. It now works for me as I have a new laptop, my old one stopped allowing me to do that for some reason.
It does time out pretty quick.

Thanks all for your welcomes and advice on posting; I'm writing in Notes now first!
We do not know which area we're going to yet. We're coming to TRNC for a variety of reasons but we've never actually been before!! We plan to get some short term accommodation while we explore and search for a long term rental. We'll not be working so we'll not be restricted to any particular area, although we like the look of Iskele for the beach and affordability. Any pointers on finding short and long term rentals would be appreciated!
Also with long term rentals what costs can we expect aside from rent itself? Like estate agent fees, utility bills (which appear to be very high!!), internet, any hidden costs etc... Anything important to ask when looking at rentals? And (after following the news and this forum) what is the water and electricity situation now? We'll be looking for a 3 bedroom villa most likely.
Any tips on buying a car? Even what car would suit us needing 3 car seats to fit in the back!
Any particular documents we need to bring? Foods or household goods we should bring with us which are not available on the island?!
It would be nice to meet others with small children too as this will be a particular challenge!
Thanks very much for reading and for any tips!!
