branscombe your query re taxing a car appeared in my inbox instead of on the general forum I've no clue as to how this happened
I can't help you with your query but I'm sure someone can offer advice if you post it on again on the general forum

So sorry Bonnie, I don't know what I did but many people have received the message and many have kindly replied so I have the answer, you cannot tax the car in advance.
To everyone who replied I am very grateful and apologise to those who received the message by mistake.

Yes, I got one too. Something very similar happened to me a while back on a more sensitive subject and was very embarrassing. Please do report it to admin, as I think a little more clarity with regard to using this board, particularly pms would benefit everyone, particularly newcomers.

Hi,
I was tons of emails where members did not use reply to the email sent out by Brandscombe so I guessed that there was something wrong. Problem has been fixed so should not happen again.

No need to apologise. It didn't cause me any problem.
I was simply concerned that if you didn't get your query on the open forum you wouldn't get an answer
Pleased that someone was able to answer your question even if it was by default.
