Please can anyone tell me, if I can dial from here? I have tried on my mobile 0044 leaving the 0 off, then 800 plus the number.

have used 0800 nos. on voipwise, 0044 then 0800 and number.think it would be same on phone.

I've used some 0800 numbers when using the 0044 prefix and dropping the lead 0.
Not all these numbers work from here, but if you check letters and websites they may show an alternative number. I bank with First Direct in England, and their UK 'free' number doesn't work from here, but there is an alternative no. with an STD code which connects fine. (I found this in the small print at the bottom of their letterhead),
