Recently noticed no calling of prayer at the local Mosque. Used to call several times a day.
Now ceased
Any one know the reason ???

Seriously though it's stopped ??? Wonder if the sound system has broken down. I will ask around as it is bugging me??
Just thought some one would know.

Yes cheeky, that's me!
Which mosque are be talking about? There are many and even if your local one is out of action you can often hear one in the distance - here in Esentepe.

Funnily when I read the op, I realised I could not remember hearing it - it is so much part of life one does not always notice. However last night and today I have been consciously listening and havent heard it! Maybe because driven indoors mainly by the weather, or perhaps MY hearing needs testing!

I expect the sound system has broken down......either that or a Turkish Cypriot has cut the wires to the speakers to stop the din!
There was a legal case about noise pollution like this in Lefke some time back, what was the result?
