Just happen notice the cost of a large bottle of Bacardi has increased by almost 10 lira or £2 sterling equivalent.
As someone who enjoys an occasional tipple and Barcardi being my favourite drink- I'm not a happy bunny!

I would assume that as the TL is worth very little at this time the prices of all items will increase, however against the pound its still good value.

Read the other day that the cost of living in Turkey has gone up 16/17%, so I suppose we must expect even more price increases to come.

The cost of Bicardi and Bombay Gin hardly equates to the general cost of living.

Certainly ...
2 / 3.45 X 100 = 57.97% (plus change)
Still a big hike, especially as the water doesn't need to be imported or paid for in a foreign currency...

Agreed, the water is not imported but then how is it produced? Is it straight out of the tap - in which case why buy it? Is it purified by some strange process - in which case it can't be handraulic and must involve electricity, which has also gone up? Is it costing more to transport it from A to Shop which is also added to the price? Have the workers wages been increased because of the general increase in prices therefore the water would also have to be increased in price? Just too hard to figure out - having been paying 6TL for 19 ltrs of Evsu for ages so have not noticed.

Have you checked the "use by" date on the Ginger Nuts RAZR??!! They often reduce the price when it is close to the date.

Yeah guilt by association? Chris Evans' lack of popularity has done for them!
