What direction from London would you prefer...........North/East/South/West?

What accommodation..........................flat or house & how many bedrooms?

How much commuting time each way............up to an hour?

What is your monthly rental budget?

Doesnt matter whether north south east or west .Trying to decide which area would be more affordable.
2bedrooms small house or flat with a 30 to 40 mins commute .Train would be preferable or even underground .
Would like under £1000

You can still get 2 bed accommodation in Croydon for just under £1000pm, or probably lower the further out you go. Only 15 minutes by train to Victoria and London Bridge.

New Cross is another place you can pick up Flats/Studios for under £1000 but you need to factor in the fees which some can be ongoing, even to renew/change a Contract and inspection fees, can be expensive.

South-east is probably most affordable for what you want.
The commute you mention would take you as far as Bexley so do a rental search for postcode DA5 making sure you are walking distance from a railway station.
Croydon is rough and New Cross is too urban.
I think Bexley or somewhere close just inside the M25 will give you the best of both worlds (nice surroundings - nearby countryside - plus near enough to London to commute)
If you need anything else just ask.

Well that puts a different slant on things, wanting a good secondary school and cheaper accommodation. Accommodation is at a premium near schools. Within the radius you are talking about regards transport to London it's expensive. The person needs to register with an Agent in UK.

Dartford has reasonable travel times to London and I know someone who is renting a 2 bedroom flat for £775 a month. We have highly rated grammar schools although I doubt you would be able to secure a place at this late stage, they are heavily oversubscribed. However the other secondary schools are not bad!
