Just wondering why ours was only 210TL for the whole year (105 each). I was expecting to pay more. Does it go down once you have lived in the property for over 10 years? We have a 3 bed bungalow with large pool on 1.25 donums in Karsiyaka.

It should be calculated as 1x the covered area of the property plus an extra 25% of this if you have a pool

Ours is always the same amount. One single charge calculated as above. Paid it last month.

Hi, sorry to jump on your post but the property tax you mention, is that 210tl for two people on property and 105tl if there is only one owner? What does this property tax consist of. Also if you were renting your property out, who would be liable for this payment, you as the owner or the tenant? Thanks

The property Tax is say 210 tl if there are two name on kocan 105tl three names 70 tl each

Regarding rental of property and liability for the annual tax, what is written in the contract? My neighbour rents but the landlord is responsible for the property tax. All buildings on this site are identical in size, with pools and as we have no kocans due to the developer/bank collusion on a stealth mortgage, we all pay the same amount to the belidye, irrespective of the number of people.

I still think I have paid more in past years, maybe I'm mistaken. I asked Ahmet in the Belediyesi office if he thought it was a mistake and he said no. It compares very favourably with council tax in the UK does it not?
