Kibkom North Cyprus Forum

We all know how good and friendly this forum is..... We are returning home today after 3 weeks in our place in Bufavento Village. Before we came over we looked on the forum for recommendations of places to go, restaurants, etc as we wanted to try a few new things.

Went to Lefkosia and found the Rustem bookshop....great place, books galore and bought a few plus an excellent DVD lasting about 1hr featuring 6 young Greek and Turkish Cypriots talking about the past, the future and their hopes. Very informative and at times moving. Went also to the Anya (?) restaurant on road to Bellapais- excellent meals both times. OK it was typical Turkish mess plus kebabs but very well cooked and presented. Great bar with every bottle of booze imaginable.

Also went up the Karpas for a few days... Did the tractor safari - excellent.

All recommended via this forum so thanks to everyone!

Look forward to returning next March, June and September!

I agree about the forum one of the best for info, I must say I miss 44 for that too, I keep a little notepad beside my laptop and jot down anything of interest for my visit in Nov/Jan.

Totally agree - this is the best expat site I have visited with people so willing to help and also offer advice.

I may be many many miles away but feel I have some really nice -on-line' friends . Cannot wait to come over & also to make the final move and live there - that thought gives me something to look forward to again X

I suppose I divide my time on the forums equally between here and Embargoedchat. You tend to get maybe more of the former C44 "characters" on Embargoed, though many would just call them "sh*t-stirrers". I agree the atmosphere here is friendlier and on the whole the members more helpful.

How I agree about Embargoed becoming unpleasant to each other. I had hoped Kibcom and Embargoed would both be OK but Kibcom is far better nowadays.

Some on Embargoed are like a dog with a bone, they just will not let go, get at people who are banned when they can't defend themselves.

Agree this is a great forum.

Soner and moderators - Thank you for what I'm sure is discrete oversight and enabling robust discussion/debate.

For me definitely the most informative and helpul of forums.

I also browse the other forums, and have to agree, KIBKOM is the friendliest and most informative.
