We always have continuous mains water in Alsancak but this morning it appears to be off. Anyone else experiencing this / know of any problems. TIA

I'm not in NC now but a few weeks back we had a problem in Yesiltepe and our water was off for 5 days while they were waiting for a part. I went to the office upstairs at the Belediyesi and they were very helpful, even offering to send a tanker for free, so worth going there if the problem persists.

You don't say what part of Alsancak you are (and that makes a huge difference). Certainly in our area above the Gepas Yapi Market, the pressure is very high.
