JoeJan,
There's a crossing point about 2 miles south-west of Famagusta's town centre. On the southside there the British military deal with passport control. We've only passed from north to south there, so I'm not certain what the GCs write on their signposts for the crossing. I presume though they write "Famagusta".
Regards,
Ian

The crossing is indeed 2 miles south of Famagusta and is the crossing between the British Sovereign Base and the TRNC.

From Protarus/Ayia Napa Area you need to head inland to Paralimni, Sotira, Phrenaros and the Vrysoulles. At Vrysoulles village turn right to Famagusta. You are now on British Base Sovereign territory.

Map link below may help.
