Hi

Does anyone know when the belediyesi are coming around to put the gel down for cockroaches please?

Have had three this week and never normally see any.

There is a company called Orkin Pest Control 0392 3300326 and they will come and do this for you.

It's usually local council who do it..don't normally have to pay?

Zoe in the Muhtars office is on maternity leave and no one speaks English so we're stuffed!

When I went to the office last week to pay our water bill the other lady who works (well maybe not works but sits in the office) along side Zoe spoke to me in English, maybe they can speak it when they want to but I'm sure if you took a picture of a cockroach and had your address written down they would be able to help.

Haha your description is very apt... I spoke to other girl but she professed not to understand me!

However a Cypriot friend rang for me and was given the number in Girne to call and apparently they are starting this week in Ozankoy.

Haha no sorry...they get squished too quickly to learn any moves!

You can buy Cockroach spray from supermarkets , we use it and spray all round the drains etc.

Write this down - "Bizim hamam bocegi sorun var" and hand it to them with your address. It means we have a cockroach problem. To be absolutely correct place two small dots above the o in bocegi. I can't do it because I'm not using Turkish script.

4 students from Beli in lowere Ozankoy this morning spraying the drains and inside for these pests.Well done lads.

Hi we have just had 3 students arrive to spray we are near Erols restaurant. They were very polite boys, one of them spoke good English & they were not afraid of the dog.
Credit where credit is due well done Belediye!!
As have only seen her behind the desk & not very often at all, I did not realise that Zoe was expecting, has she had the baby yet if so when & boy or girl??

It's a boy, due at the beginning of August.

Yes they've just been and done ours this morning too..hurrah!

The lads have just been to ours near Rafters Restaurant. So funny when they went to come in the front door, one our dog's who is very friendly but noisy was skidding on the floor tiles trying to greet them only to find one of the lads balancing on our garden wall and the other had climbed up onto our porch area, big softies but well done lads I was getting fed up chasing the roaches around the house even though I had sprayed all the drains plus they gave the dogs some well needed exercise.
