Residency update

Did our 11th residency application today and, as a married couple, the police wanted us to have a photocopy of each other's passport with our separate applications. I would suggest therefore that you take 2 copies of your photo page and previous stamp (not 100% certain if this was needed as well because I didn't watch what he copied but I would take it just in case).

Just did our application for temporary visa (Residency) for the 3rd time last week.

We are married and each time we have always had to produce copies of our own passports with residency stamps. In actual fact we have always produced 2 x copies of everything....bank statement, Kocan etc - one copy for each of us.

Once we turned up with just one bank statement with both our names on as it was a joint account and had to stroll across and get another copy.

To be honest I have a file with loads of photocopies of everything they could possibly need and always take with us just in case.

Mind you we started process in police station at 8:50am and had completed everything 2hrs later .....state hospital, bloods taken at Kolan etc etc. Not to bad we thought. This also included a 15 min wait at 10:30am whilst the police lady had a coffee break!

Yes I agree but what they wanted in addition to the above was a copy of my husbands passport to add to my set and a copy of mine to add to his!! The size of our file after 11 lots of copying is already humungous and now they want to add to it

Do you think they make it up or it's on the whim of whoever is on duty at the police station? Never asked us for additional copies, but will make sure that when we travel to Lefkosa will have our usual file with additional copies of everything......just in case!
