Well I think it was Lords Palace last night going for a new record of loadness,if this is what Cypriots and Turks consider music well no wonder they have no top recording musicians apart from the volume the music is tripe just 3 or 4 repeat bass chords throughout, not good at 3 am on a Sunday what holiday makers and people living within 1.5 km of this venue must think of it,bet this will be a first and last holiday in TRNC
we have lived in the area 7 years but this years the worst for disturbance.

Piper, whilst your view about volume and time may well be valid, I recommend you use the internet to get actual fact regarding internationally recognised and popular Turkish musicians, groups and vocalists, else you diminish your original, and quite likely correct, point. The genre of music may not appeal to you personally, but it does to millions of others.

Oh my goodness! I live in Ozankoy, above the village and I could even hear it up here loud and clear! I assumed it was a wedding/celebration in the village not Lords Palace!

There was a wedding celebration at the Ozankoy Spor Club last night accompanied by the usual drums didn't go on to the early hours though.

Exactly Kerry, the local weddings and sünnet ceremonıes held at the Sports Club maybe loud (whatever your taste in music ( personally I prefer to traditional Turkish music than the modern tuneless jangling in any language) always stops promptly in accordance with the law at 11.30pm so one knows there is an end to it. What the discos or whatever churn out goes on till all hours of the early morning, and just as one drops off to sleep in a lull, it starts up again. A variation on Chinese Water Torture!

Umm, hello, a good number of people were living here peacefully before the loud music started. How on earth do the people at these places actually enjoy themselves, do their ears bleed? I can only hope they go out of business real soon.

Oh dear I seem to have upset one or two Turkish music fans on here,
I apologise, but have a think how many Turkish artists have topped the UK charts or the American
top 100 Hm not too many ,look forward to hearing their entry for the next Eurovision contest
and no neither is Australia before you tell me Turkey is not in the EU.
The main point was the unacceptable noise wether it be by UK or TRNC
people.
once again I apologise to the fans of Turkish music.

The correct answer! If these venues have Fb, tripadvisor or social media sites we could also use these as a place to complain. Would the local newspaper be interested in a story?

Cyprus Today has done stories on noise nuisance from hotels, discos etc. on several occasions. It might have worked for a week or two, then it starts again or another venue joins in!
Never mind, we now have the noise of Jet Engines to look forward to . Personally I dont mind that because of what it symbolises , but from the barking of my small dogs it seems they think they can take on the Turkish Airforce!
