what to take to gulseren camp for military service

my husband is going to do his military service on monday, does anyone know what he needs to bring with him? and what personal items is he allowed to take?????

Most important take enough shampoo, not sure how shower gel works with salt water, but definately do not bother with soap. Water for washing is salty.
I think he can take a watch, sandles for the evening, the usual for shaving gear, white vest and underwear. Not sure if mobiles are alowed as could not afford them in my day.
Am sure others will post more info, this is all I can think of at the moment.

They're not allowed to have them in Turkey - I presume it's the same here.

You are not supposed to take mobile phones but when I did my 'service' almost everyone in our group (older returning cypriots) did bring them. Just make sure it doesnt go off in front of an officer when you are on duty and you will be fine with a mobile I think. I ended up with mobile phone and a sony playstation portable for evening entertainment and it was no problem.

thanks for the help guys, are there any tips anyone can suggest?? and are you allowed to call on a phone and when?? and also what time do you finish for the day?

he is doing 15 months and is 19

I am pretty certain that he can take a mobile as I have a young friend that is doing his National Service at the moment and he rings text's his family every day and calls whenever he gets a chance.
Best advise is do as you are told and be good, you can't go wrong. He will make many firends and the experience will probably make him a better person (not that he is at all bad). Final advice is, tell him not to eat too much of the bread they provide at meal times - he will understand when he is there. It's more difficult for married couples, so I hope the time passes fast for you both.
