Anyone else suffering? taking antihistamine tabs any other suggestions?

Natural yoghurt works for me.

A friend recommended UTALK Pudra - a talcum powder, which was very soothing. Chemists have it.

Canestan Hydrocortisone works for my other half but the best solution is supposed to be a hamman as it unblocks the pores.

Thanks for the info what is Hamman? and slsgjc regarding yogurt do you put it on the skin?

Calamine Lotion works but you will probably need to get it from UK?

Aloe Vera gel?

Re calamine, you can get Kalmosan in the chemists, same thing

A Hamman is a Turkish Bath - try the one in Lefkosa next to the Buyuk Han.

Aloe vera grows everywhere! Cut a keaf, squeeze out the gel and apply.

Slice a tomato in half and rub cut side on ,think it's something to do with acidity in tomatoes ,it really does work for a quick fix

Johnson's baby powder... an old (Greek) Cypriot I know swears by it.

Be careful with Aloe Vera as some people can be allergic - as i found out when it made me itch and sting more than before! It is probably the prickles or outer skin that cause that, if you can get to the sap it is probably OK but that is quite an exercise.

Lemon Cologne may help - presumably on the same basis of acidity as the half tomato.... It is also very good both for deterring insects and taking the sting out of minor bites as well as being generally cooling, Limon Kolonyasi available in most Supermarkets and quite cheap. I keep spare bottles in my "beachbag" andin the car

Savlon oitment available most chemists may also help.

I had severe case this summer and tried calamine and anti histamines..Dr Turk.suggested Bepanthen plus cream and it had all cleared up within a couple of days. Completely recommend it.

Antihistamines and allergenic Piz Baun sun tan is the only thing that worked for me.

Is that product that Dr Turk told you about just one product, ie is it called Bepanthon plus or did you have to use Bepanthon plus a cream.

Sorry goldfish only just seen your question, that is the name of the cream...I didn't mean plus cream. It is very affective. Hope it helps.
