Its that time of year again, so can anyone help with what is required at present, I am just under 60 and my wife is just over, so I would appreciate advice on either.

Thanks in advance, Steve.

Yes I realize that there is a post further down Woodspekie, but the reality of what actually happens rather than what the BRS, or Cyprus Today print, is almost always far different, that's why I was asking if anyone has trod the under 60 route lately to see the reality of what is required this year.

This has been done to death by many people - the under 60's remains as it has all year, and most of last year - same stuff as usual (kocan, muktars letter, wedding cert etc etc plus the blood test and Xray - over 60's as on BRS/CT - pink booklet, muktars letter and passport. Its permanent residency they havent decided on yet - eg whether to have Xrays and blood tests for that as well!!

You maybe think its been done to death Mamachina, but believe me it changes weekly as all those who are under 60 will testify to, and there is nothing worse than being turned away by a policeman who takes great joy in making things difficult, so the purpose of this post is to try and beat the system, although truth be known we never will as the goalposts are forever being moved, last year I was given three different options of how the xray and blood tests should be carried out, by the very people who are running it !!!

Did mine this week and it was a breeze-In and out of police station and hospital in about 2 hours-my tip is to go a bit later. like 9.30-10am.
Still not sure why I have to have all these tests though-given that the place is a virtual whorehouse for Turkish businessmen-I think they are testing the wrong people to be honest.
But don't get me started on that one.......

It is not a case of being done to death it is a case for clarification. I am fortunate to have reached (only just I hasten to add ) the golden age of 60 but my other half still has a way to go. We have done 3 residency visa`s so far and never had an x-ray although we had the TB test. We both are regular blood donors so my question is if we get a letter from blood donors do we still have to have an x ray.
If there is anyone that can advise if you would rather keep off board please PM me.

Mammachina, sorry to disagree, but things are not the same as last year. Last year we had to go to the hospital and pay for the tests and were then sent to whatever lab they wanted us to go to that day. From my understanding that changed sometime this year to the tests being done at the hospital and instead of having the TB skin test, having a chest X ray. Now they have introduced the new idea that blood donors don't have to have the blood test if they fulfill the requirements. For under 60s it is still a minefield of ever changing rules. None of us know exactly what we have to do anymore. I'm glad the over 60s have all the clarification and have had it made easy, but for a lot of us it is not easy and not clear at all. So to anyone out there, who is under 60, (particularly if you are a blood donor as well), that has done their residency or about to, please let us know what the present rules are.

When I went last Tuesday ,I went first to the police station, I took with me-
My pink card.
Muktahs letter.
Copy sale contract(Take rental agreement/Kokan whichever applies)
Passport
Photocopy of last residency stamp in passport
Photocopy Of photo page of passport
I took some stamps and spare passport photos too, but didn't need them.
The police then give you a slip which you take to the hospital.
You go to the window downstairs and they give you a test tube for blood test and two sheets of paper, then you pay tl 135 at another window. then you go to another window upstairs and hand the 2 sheets in-get blood test done and x ray.
then back to police station and tell them you have had tests done.
A few days later get your test results from hospital-room 307 upstairs.
Take these to Lefkosa in about 3 weeks and pay again ( I think its about tl250) and I think you may need stamps here but I haven't been yet.

does anyone know how it works if you had resi and then a work permit and going back to resi hopefully the old pink book etc will enable them to find you on the system or would it be back to square one !

Still doesn`t answer what you pay if you are a blood donor!?
