As anyone in TRNC tried the IPTV that you can buy in U.K.? We have it in U.K. on an openbox and the quality is stunning. I suspect the internet we get in the UK being. superior to when we are out there would make all the difference. However when we return we will bring the box out and give it a try.

The subscription is for my openbox v8s but you can get it for multiple appliances.Keith. eBay is full of them now for various prices.

Hi, Not too sure what you're saying really - I found this item, which is described as an 'openbox v8s', but which seems to be a satellite receiver, rather than an internet based device. Is this what you are referring to?

And also you mention a Subscription - who or what do you pay a subscription to, and for what?

The open box is a Satellite free sat receiver, but it also has various apps incorporated, including webtv. you buy a subscription from the web, like eBay.
If you look on Ebay and search for IPTV you will find countless boxes etc. that you can buy with IPTV already downloaded within, or you can buy the m3u file to download yourself. As Navek already knows Youtube is the place to get info how to get the boxes etc. set up and working.

Thanks for that dan.

I think that a Freesat receiver would not be much use here, as I understand it, the UK Freesat Satellites have a narrow beam focused on the UK, so we wouldn't be able to pick up the signal in TRNC - we can't even get SKY anymore with a 4.2 metre dish!

If the box also incorporates 'IPTV' hardware and software, that is Television via an internet connection, then that part of it should work, although you may need to subscribe to a VPN service (depending on who your TRNC Internet Service Provider is) in order to watch 'Geo-Restricted Content'.

Please let us know how you get on!
