Our car insurance is due for renewal next week and house insurance next month so looking to get some quotes. Can anyone recommend an insurance company that can provide good cover, service and will pay out? Currently with Dagli, no particular problem with them just shopping around.

I would stay with Dagli; Trevor is an excellent agent.

AZANT are about to advertise with us. Give them a go, a member had saved £100 on car insurance with them.

Very sorry to hear that Trevor & Mary have resigned, although not a customer ourselves we know of many people who said that they provided an excellent service.

Now that Trevor & Mary have left Dagli Sigorta I also would like to know a reliable and honest insurance company that gives gives good customer service and answers the phones especially in your hour of need. By the way Trevor & Mary have been treated I have lost faith in Dagli Sigorta. I will be moving my car and home insurance.

It will be interesting to know where customers stand regarding the BRS discount that was negotiated via Trevor?

For car insurance we used Credit West we had no problems although we made no claims.
House insurance we used Can Sigorta made a claim a claim but it took over a year to get anything out of them the amount was no where near the claim we had made cannot recommend them.

I would say pop along to any of the local banks, this is where we got our best quotes.

We use Azant in Alsancak near bakery.Two fantastic guys,know their stuff.Have command of english/turkish.Really competative and very professional.House car and medical.Nothing too much trouble.

Yes we have had a claim through azant.Also earlier in the year on health insurance too.All very professionally handled.

I use Azant for everything now, car insurance, medical ins, and all travel needs.
I have made a claim recently with the car insurance and everything was handled professionally and covered by the policy. Nothing is too much trouble and Anthony always says he can better any quote that you have already been given.
They also offer fully comp car insurance which most companies don't offer here.
Definitely give them try.

Wonder what will happen re the DHL and Passport side in particular now that T and M have left. Its not something that you can leave to amateurs is it? Re other insurance companies, going round and getting quotes is the easy part. Its getting really qualified assessors, particularly where structural house problems are concerned, is the hard part, then of course, getting the cash from the company is the hardest part of all, as friends of mine have discovered after the gruesome floods of last Christmas.

Most Insurance companies here are terrific until the time comes, then its a different story.

Most If not all Cypriot companies do not re-insure so in the event of a major catastrophy i.e earthquake or big fire they would just shut up shop.
We use Turgud Insurance who sell Zurich policies & they have paid out very quickly when we have had a claim.

We have very recently changed our car insurance to Dagli Sigorta based on level of service offered by Trevor. A bit anxious now whether breakdown cover north and south will still be covered. We're also thinking if moving house insurance to them but might hold fire on that one now. Currently with Turk Sigorta and have had a right royal battle over a claim at the beginning of the year with differences of opinion on what was/was not covered. We stood our ground and it went before an insurance appeal committee. They eventually came good.

Have to agree with above posts give AZANT a go. Very knowledgeable and 100% focused on customer service. They have a great range of products such as the emergency health cover and also IMG international health care. They will always work their hardest for you in a claim situation.

Our office is based in Alsancak at No.4 Cangil Plaza. We are located approximately 100 metres after Green Petrol Station on the right hand side as you come from Kyrenia direction. We are right next door to Home Essentials and also in the same plaza as Gul Bakery which is very well known bakery/patisserie with English customers.

If you get to Lapta Starling then you have gone to far as we are approximately 150 metres before there.

Stay well clear of Limassol Bank. The agent Cyprus Pines Car Rentals were useless. We had flooding last Christmas. Our claim was for £2,800 all we eventually got was £560. Ironically the agent Cyprus Pines private house was also flooded at the same time. Their claim was for £20,000. Yes! you guessed right .They were paid out in full.

Could we have a telephone number for Turgud Insurance please.

We have used Turk Sigorta (Turkbankasi) to insure our car and house for many years. Fortunately we have never had to make a claim. Today, I went out in my car, left it parked for an hour or so and when I got back to it, it would not start. My 3rd party car insurance includes free breakdown service so I contacted the bank who then phoned the insurance manager who arranged for a breakdown truck to be with me within 30 minutes (no quibble). Whilst I waited the insurance manger and driver of the breakdown truck kept me informed. The driver also dropped me off at home and then took the vehicle to my usual garage.

To arrange car or house insurance call into any Turkbankasi branch. If you want your house to be assess for rebuilding costs this can be arranged also. Alternatively contact the insurance manager direct - Mustafa on 0392 222 79011. Mustafa speaks fluent English.

I think a lot of people will be thinking, "if it ain't broke don't mend it" with regard to Dagli Insurance, however we don't know if its broken or not do we? What we should be asking is what reserves do other Insurance companies have, should you need to make a really large claim. As we have read above, some of the supposedly reputable companies, don't cough up when a large financial reimbursement is desperately needed. I for one don't want to jump from the frying pan into the fire!! What we are waiting for is some sort of notification from the Dagli Management, and as of today, NOTHING has been forthcoming.

Thing with insurance here,they are good at collecting the premiums,and nice and smiley when you take the policy out,but the only way to judge an insurance company is how they treat you when you make a claim.

It's no good saying xyz insurance co have been very friendly to me if you have never made a claim,as many posters say.

All I can say from personal experience is I wouldn't touch Turk Sigorta With a smelly stick having made a claim with them.

PhilOz, thats the exact point of message 32, nice offices, cups of coffee, A/C on full blast and promises handed out on a silver platter, mean damn all, which the dream is shattered if a major claim (or even a minor one!!) is rejected. I would prefer to hear in this thread from people who have made claims and had full recompense from their company, rather than "how nice and kind they have always been"

PS: still no email or text from Dagli,

I have a sixteen year old Vitz which I can no longer insure comprehensive ,so i have the last two years only been able to have 3rd party. Unfortunately last month a drunk driver smashed into my car,fortunately although very badly damaged we all 4 survived with minor injuries,The other driver was in a hire car and had no agreement or licence and was drunk!! Now hire companies insurance are refusing to pay.
However via my insurance company they are applying to an emergency fund which they are confident will pay and recover from other sides company.

Also my insurance company have loaned me a car FREE OF CHARGE whilst they resolve the problem.

The Company is ESTA with their main office and Steve Dickenson,s branch pulling bout all the stops.

We also took out emergency health cover

Azant seems the way to go. Must check them out at next renewal.

After lots of advice and warnings, we've decided to go via our bank. Their quote was very competitive and we have used and had claims paid by them in the past before we switched to Dagli 5 years ago. Plus I'm able to use points on my credit card towards the premium. I didn't realise it was such a minefield, it's certainly not a straightforward choice. I just hope we've made the right decision...

I am with Iktisat bank insurance for my car. Fees and evaluation are done quite decently. 3 months ago my car got hit twice in 3 days while being parked. (really bad luck).Went both times to fill forms regarding the accidents on both days. After two more days, a representative of the insurance company came, collected the car and brought it back fixed same week. No questions asked or issues caused from iktisat's side. Very professional insurance service. This is my 3rd year with them.
