For the first time for ages, the taps have run dry for us today, behind the school in Karsiyaka. Is anyone else in the area having the same problem?

Hi Mark, glad you posted. We're okay as we have a well, but a friend is arriving tonight (bungalow below Mediterra, Karsiyaka) and for the second time in a few days, no water. We thought it was a fault in her supply and phoned the belediye but maybe there's a bigger problem

Water has been a problem in Karaman for weeks and weeks now with some people having none for well over a month. See recent issues of Cyprus Today.

Our dear Mr Namsoy is pulling a fast one, charging Turkish water prices for Lapta well water. It looks like his ruse is becoming exposed now as supply fails to match demand. Watch this space.

Ahmet in the Belediyesi office assured me that it is not a mega problem, and would be back on soon. He said it is turned off so they can carry out a repair. Hopefully he's right.
