Mercure Hotel closed

I was amazed to see that the Mercure has closed down -just a week or so ago - as I have been in the UK
Was anyone as silly as me to have a recently renewed membership there which I understand will now not be honoured by the group Mercure or
the new owners the Merit when it does re-open in 3 months ??
Any thoughts greatly appreciated

our any memberships Charlotte55, sometimes these businesses don't realise the power of free speech, word will soon get round, then they will wonder why we are not using their facilities. More talking with our feet I say.

Did you pay using uK card if so Mercure is french & eU laws apply

No I paid out in hard earned TL cash what I thought and was told was a special offer!
I just wanted to swim in the winter and a bit of time in the gym
to get a bit fitter
I should know better!

i am a member of the Mercure gym and spa ( till December), have been away for two weeks.
Today came to sort out the membership and was told to contact Mt Ahmet bey at Serenas Tourism ( situated near the Mercure, next to the Market place ).
Ahmet bey is away at the moment but we can contact him on (0392 ) 822 42 80.
If I find out anything will inform you.

You may be lucky as its being taken over by the Merit Group (at least thats my understanding)

Is it the actual hotel that's closed or just the gym.

Mercure Hotel is closed down and being taken over by Merit Group. It is being renovated and being planned to be reopened after new years as Merit Park Hotel.

We work extensively with Merit Group and I have made them aware of this post, their reaction was very positive and I believe it is safe to assume that nobody's investment has gone down the drain following this change of hands of this establishment.

Once the new Merit Park team is decided (they are recruiting from within their group, existing Mercure personnel and also from outside at the moment) and there is someone responsible for task is decided, I will post his/her contact details here.

I am very pleased to hear this as I know a lot of the previous staff
