It's that time of year again and this year the shower is going to be the brightest for 96 years. Saturday night/Sunday morning looks like it will be peak viewing time.

Plus there is a partial Lunar eclipse visible between 8.25pm and 10.20pm tonight, peaking at 9.20pm.

I therefore predict heavy cloud cover tonight from around 20:25 but clearing around 22:30 - lol. That has been the norm for the last few events!

It's the Dark Side that the clouds come from - lol. I think it is part of the EU/UN set of embargoes myself - the South will try anything and letting the North have a free look at a partial eclipse must really make them grind their teeth - lol. The clouds are massing as I type but maybe the wind will push them through - hope so, got my telescope all set up just in case.

For the first time I had a cloud clear sky, sad bit is that my telescope and the specialist software on my tablet failed to work properly so I ended up with loads of pictures of "Black" and no pictures of the event. Do not try to take a picture with you phone through binoculars - it don't work but the theory was fine of course. Will get it sorted out in time for the meteor shower - I hope.
