No Electric Malataya

We haven't had any electric all day at Malataya because of work on nearby pylons. Does anyone know when it is due to be completed. As usual no forewarning just turn up and shut down electric! Cables everywhere and just not on tbh. Should I contact KibTek?

This is what is on KibTek's website. PLANNED CIRCUIT (GİRNE İLÇESİ) Due to the project work to be done on high voltage electricity network on Thursday, August 10, 2017, electricity will not be supplied to Malatya Region between 06:00 am and 19:30 pm. It is strongly recommended that the network be treated as if there is electricity at all times, as electricity can be supplied later or earlier than the specified time according to the worker's energy.
So it look like they have started earlier or just got the dates wrong. P@*"! Poor Planning.
and this:
DEFECTIVE INTERRUPTION From 10:35 am due to a fire on Tuesday, August 8, 2017; Karsiyaka Mountain Part and Water Pump, Oil Mill, the Village and Cemetery, Monte Parle Holiday Village and the surrounding area.

https://www.kibtek.com/ If using Google Chrome just right click on the page and click on "Translate", that will change it to English for you and you will find all the information regarding "Down Time" on the page titled "KESINTI BILGILERI". Don't think CT bother to publish any news that is useful so you won't find it there and unless you have good Turkish and listen to the local radio you won't get it there either - best bet is to have a look on this site (kibtek) once a week, at least you will get an idea of what is planned. "So it look like they have started earlier or just got the dates wrong. P@*"! Poor Planning." - Yes, damned if you do and damned if you don't! UK not like that at all where everything is perfect and everyone knows what is going to happen I guess. Nice to see you found the site yourself or did you contact Kibtek first?

Thanks. Electric came back on after 8.00pm.
From: Kibtek:
"as electricity can be supplied later or earlier than the specified time according to the worker's energy". All dependent on how much energy the worker's have I guess???

Yeah, must be really easy to sleep under the bushes when it's 45 in the shade and you have to lug heavy steel cables about, watching from the shade of my swimming pool surround with a nice cold beer in my hand it always makes me wonder why these guys don't just work harder than they do, after all it's not hard work is it?

We watched these guys in action a few weeks ago when they were working on installing new cables between electricity pylons above Catalkoy. We walk our dog at 6am and they had just started work as we walked by. Not a job for the faint hearted, lots of climbing at height and the cables were extremely heavy. All credit to them, not a job I would want to be doing in the height of summer.
On one building site close to us there are a couple of builders sleeping on site in what resembles a plastic Nissen hut, bet that's really cool at night - not and they are also up and about very early and we can still see them working at gone 7pm at night when we are taking hound for his evening stroll.
Full admiration for these guys, it is a job I could not and would not want to do.

Off topic I know, but it wasn't me that started it!!! Last week the local Belle men were working cutting down weeds and grass on the side of our road. But for over an hour they packed up and just lay around under trees on our ground, so I took 7 large mugs of water out to them. However unbeknown to me one of the men had dropped off to sleep about 6ft off the ground in the bend of a branch, I asked the foreman, if later on they could prune a couple of the trees in question. He jumped up there and then and promptly, with a very powerful petrol saw, cut off the branch the bloke was asleep in, to huge laughter from his mates and the Foreman as the bloke lie on the ground covered in leaves and broken branches. TRNC humour??

Yep full of admiration for the workers, they got the job done. Wasn't having "a dig" at them just the terminology.....

RAZR63, Comment sent in fun and not as a dig at you - by the way, we have no swimming pool anyway - lol. These guys work hard but generally most of us are either not up to see it or don't notice what is going on, it's always the same the world over I suppose.

I rang them and they were very helpfull and said the electric would be back at 3pm.
By 7pm the electric was not on I rang again and a very rude man answered when I spoke he said "no english" and hung up. I tried again this time using my basic Turkish. Same man said something and hung up. I tried a third time as soon as I opened my mouth he hung up.
Electric came back on at 8.20pm after 14 hours.
