Insurance - Metehan

Can anyone advise if you can purchase insurance for 1 day to cross to the south via Metehan.

Or do you need to purchase a longer period I.e. A week or a month minimum?

We have in the past purchased a month at a time especially when we had family traveling across to visit but were unsure if you can just by for a day or maybe a week only.

Do all the insurance booths offer the same length of time for insurance?

Thanks

Posh, Not that I would ever consider doing this BUT if you cross at a point that is not Metahan then you cross into SBA control - that is a customs check and they are not interested in insurance at all - strange that. I am aware of many expats who use a crossing point and have never had insurance or the South permission to drive (car tax) bit of paper.

ttoli is dead right, you can only get 1 month. Because we live here permanently I gave up a few years back and now buy it at 6 months at a time - it's easier on my nerves - lol.

It is 25 euro for a car think it is 30 for a 4x4. There used to be a price advantage for buying a longer period but now there isn't so we buy a month at a time. However we gain by going on or close to the expiry date & leaving a week before going again & buying another month. So for 6 months of insurance because we only go once a week we are only paying for 5.
People who drive without insurance must need their heads examining!
