Last Monday, Groucho posted:-
According to our local branch of the Limassol Bank, they will be closed on Wednesday 30th August, Friday the 1st Sept and Monday 4th Sept.

They will be open on Thursday 31st Aug...

Wednesday is a public holiday so everywhere 'official' will be closed then Bayram starts with a half day on Thursday but the government have given permission to be closed on the Thursday 31st August as it would only be a half day anyway then closed Friday (the first day of Bayram). Also closed on Monday then back to normal on Tuesday morning

Thanks Bernie am presuming it will be half day Tuesday as well. Keith come on did you really think that they would go to work on Thursday I think that is a triumph of hope over experience!

Well I am told that the Muhtars office in Bellapais is closed from Tuesday afternoon until the following Tuesday, so if anyone needs water make sure you get it before Tuesday lunchtime. I imagine all the Muhtars offices will be the same.

The op specifically mentioned Banks, and that was the only information that I had seen from a reliable source - I would guess that your chances of getting anything done at 'Government' establishments would be Zero!
