Pardon me climbing onto your coat tails but, to avoid a separate thread, perhaps someone could add when the Banks will re-open after today?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I am sure there is no alcohol ban for any Bayram, as far as I am aware the only time the sale of alcohol is banned is at election time.

Regardless of whether there is an booze free day or not, restaurants are exempt. I suspect the Election Ban is probably the only day if there is one at all.

I think the alcohol ban for Bayram (and other things like proximity to a mosque) applies in Turkey but not ..................so far............... in the TRNC

Election day has probably more to do with people getting over excited than religion!

There are however as far as I know no days in either country on which alcohol is free!

Thanks for replies I think I got confused (too much alcohol?) with the election day ban.
