The RBL Kyrenia branch is getting ready to conduct their fourth consecutive ‘Proms in the Park’ event which this year will take place on 27th September in the lovely park surroundings of the Wild Duck Café.

Tickets - 10tl to RBL members and 15tl to non-members - can be obtained now from the following outlets: The Wild Duck Café in Lapta, Bestseller Bookshop in Alsancak or the RBL stall at Lambousa Market from the beginning of September.
The main gate will be manned and you will be expected to show your entry ticket when requested. The concert, which will be shown on 2 giant screens, will commence at 7pm and finish around 10pm.

Iif you don’t fancy organising a picnic there is a special ’Proms’ menu (which must be pre-booked directly with the Café) and the bar is open from 4pm. Tables of 6 and 9 are available but please bring blankets if you want to sit on the grass and remember only plastic glasses are allowed due to the danger to children playing afterwards.

Nor me!

That's why I removed it as soon as I realised that I'd made a mistake

Sorry!

No need to apologise Keith... If it's an orchestral program played live then I think they will get plenty of support but we need to know what's on offer....

Taken from the BBC's website.

'Sakari Oramo and the BBC Symphony Orchestra weave together many of this season’s musical strands into the exuberant celebration that is the Last Night of the Proms.
They mark the 50th anniversaries of the deaths of composers Zoltán Kodály and Malcolm Sargent (better known as the longtime chief conductor of the Proms), and celebrate John Adams’s 70th birthday with the London premiere of his exhilarating Lola Montez Does the Spider Dance.
Music by Sibelius marks the 100th anniversary of Finnish Independence, and Nina Stemme, arguably the world’s greatest living Wagnerian soprano, leads the end-of-season festivities.'

Sending this back to the top. I attended the 3 Musketeers performance last night, at The Wild Duck. The show was fantastic but I was reminded once again what a lovely and (for TRNC) unusual setting for entertainment this is. Great food too.
