Dennis,

If you know how to get to Larnaca follow the same route and turn left at the big roundabout on the outskirts where you normally turn right to the airport.

Personally, I would take the A3 Motorway (which runs behind Agia Napa) towards Larnaca. Take the second junction that is signed for Pyla. Go straight through Pyla and a couple of Ks beyond to the crossing. Through the crossing and then go straight on through Dortyol, Gecitkale, and over the mountains to Tatislu. Turn left for Girne and beyond.

OR......Take the same route to the crossing and then go straight ahead as far as the Famagusta- Nicosia Highway. Turn towards Nicosia and take your normal route to Lapta (Gonyeli)?

I agree with Hilltop, much nicer route, Dennis, and you can stop off at the British base for fish and chips if you have time.

We were there last night, fabulous fish and chips and a lovely breeze

It's junction 59 for Pyla/Beyarmudu. Plus it's not quite straight on at Dortyol if you want to go via Gecitkale. As you reach Dortyol you have to turn right, signed to Famagusta, then when you reach the roundabout go straight over for Gecitkale, etc or turn left towards Lefkosa. Beware that it's one of those roundabouts where you have to stop in the middle, i.e. give way to traffic coming from left (from Lefkosa).
If you go straight ahead at Dortyol you can't turn right onto main dual carriageway, been there done that, had to turn around. Not sure if it's even possible to turn left anymore.

If you did pop into Dhekalia the easy way from there to the Beyamudu crossing is to go off the base, up the hill towards the motorway and 400 metres before the junction turn left, go past the military airfield and at the T junction turn right. Crossing very close.

As for Dortyol, yes it can be confusing but the priorities have changed and the main road goes in the right direction. Look out for a Kose market and bear right there.

Well you can stop for a kebab in Beyarmudu - lovely friendly people.
