Air Con Units - Price Please

Would appreciate recent prices for non-inverter air con units 9000 and 12000 BTU. I have searched the forum but most posts are about inverter. This is for a long term rental apartment so purchase cost more important than running cost. Many thanks.

Stocks of non-inverter units have been generally run down.
There may be some obscure makes still available but I would steer clear of them for warranty reasons.
I will happily give you some inverter unit prices by pm.

Just a thought, if you currently have a long-term tenant in situ, perhaps they would be willing to contribute a part of the difference in price between inverter & non-inverter types. They would quickly recoup their outlay, and your property would be made more attractive to future renters by virtue of the lower running costs...

Vaughan can probably advise on the approx. price difference, even if there aren't actually many non-inverter types available (- and I think that he meant to say that "Stocks of non-inverter units have been generally run down" ).

Don't go for the absolutely cheapest price that you can find, it's a competitive field, and you get what you pay for.

It can be a case of 'Buy Cheap, pay more later'

Thanks guys. Much food for thought. We have had quotes from the agent for non inverter units at around 1700TL for 9000/1200 BTU. One other consideration is that my friend will be putting the apartment on the market.

Vaughan will you please pm me a quote. It is for the living area of a 1 bed Patara City apartment.

Thanks.

I have rentals and just buy beko all the shops have a standard list price and theres also a set dicount which you should easily get if you offer cash . Ive just bought one a few weeks ago but i think i paid 2150 tl dont panic that included a washing machine ! I think it was around 1250 tl it was definately less than 1700 tl . I have a 1 bed in oatara and i woukd definately just buy the smallest unit . Everytime you go the shop they ask for the room dimensions and try sell you the biggest they can . For a rental unless the room is massive just get the smallest the tenants can sit below it when its hot !

Thanks for the info. The agent quoted the Beko 9000 BTU at 1650TL so I will check it out personally.

Just found my beko invoice ! It was for 2250 . 900 for thewashing machine and 1350 tl for the klima! The 1350 was for the smallest unit and was the discounted price the shop automatically give me the discount as i always use them . It diesnt really matter which shop you use as all the units come direct from nicosia and are installed by the same agent/company. It did take them about 10 days to install ir was the middle if the summer july/august so probably a busy time if the year . Only pay 1350 ! I hope this helps i use the small beko shop on the road into kyrenia which the colony is on . Its about halfway down opposite a petrol station . i dont bother paying to fix any white goods as ive found its just more cost effective to replace them with cheapest beko items with a guarantee and when they break just replace them .

If the agent has quoted you for the cheapest unit then they have given you the price with their referal commission built in . If you see the beko price list you will see there are several columns with reducing prices . I woukdnt get to bent out of shape about the agent getting commission its how things work here arcelik do it as well - i dont use arcelik i found them more expensive . Just order it yourself .

Many thanks for the info. I certainly have no problem with the agent charging commission, I wouldn't expect anything else. I will be paying Beko a visit.
