When flying by Pegasus to Stansted from Ercan do you stay on plane or do you have to get off at Istanbul and go through security again now please?

Just had this from Pegasus after trying to complete the on-line booking for the second leg of our journey back to Stansted via Izmir:- "Thank you for writing to us. In response to your enquiry referencing online check in, we kindly inform you that you will have to complete your check in at the Lefkoşa (ECN) airport due to mandatory security reasons".Mr Mac wrote:Did London Stansted to Izmir yesterday. Could not check in online rang Pegasus office twice, first time 'there is a problem on website' second time 'Ercan won't let you as you have connecting flights' so booked in at airport no problems. However, staff at Stansted say unless you have paid for a seat, the computer now automatically allocates them and they cannot be changed. Also if you do pay for them you have to pay twice as it is classed as two separate flights. Had to stay on plane at Izmir, staff came and checked that your cabin baggage was there, then bussed to terminal and straight through to gate, no further security.
Just to follow up on our return to Stansted via Izmir - At Ercan airport we were given 2 seperate boarding cards, 1 for Ercan to Izmir and the 2nd for the Izmir to Stansted flight. On arriving at Izmir all Stansted passengers were told to wait on plane, once everyone else was off we were bused to the lower floor of the airport, hand luggage was scanned and we had to go throught the body scanner. We were then pointed in the general direction of gate 229, up stairs at gate 229 there were 2 tables where our passports, boarding cards were checked then our hand luggage was opened and a small pad was used to try to detect gunpowder, or any type of explosive material, our body was also subjected to this swabbing, again presumably to see if we had been in contact with any explosive material. We then waited for the call to board, we boarded the same aircraft, sat in the same seat for our jouney to Stansted. There were 5 wheel chair assisted passengers who had to go through this same procedure, which must have been stressful for them. I still find it difficult to believe that this is at all necessary. Surely direct flights from Ercan to Stansted is the way forward, how could our hand luggage be tampered with by any individual when flying at 25,000 feet or above with no-one else getting on the plane. It is just political nonsence! very little to do with security. Yes! I am aware different day different procedures ( bit like an TRNC MOT test) one day the y just kick the tyres, you pay your money - next time you have to have new number plates or not depending who is on duty!Mr B wrote:Just had this from Pegasus after trying to complete the on-line booking for the second leg of our journey back to Stansted via Izmir:- "Thank you for writing to us. "Please note that due to the daylight savings time change in North Cyprus, Lefkosa-Izmir PC1861 flight will be operated at 08:50 instead of 09:50".
