Prime Minister Huseyin Ozgurgun, in a ceremony on Tuesday, distributed plots of rural land to young couples in the villages of Serdarlı and Görneç in the Famagusta district,.

Ozgurgun said that the aim in distributing rural land to young people is to make them feel more connected with the rural areas, to support their villages and for them to know that the state has helped them.

He explained that over the last eighteen months, the government had distributed rural land to young couples in 40 villages and that there are plans to distribute land in a further 20 villages.

Just wait for the outcry from the South!

Well, the North could always give away to young couples the land around Paphos in the South - oh wait, no they can't, that land has been expropriated by the RoC so the real owners have already lost it! No, wrong again sorry, I have just seen the bill of sale that Ali signed as the UN stuffed him in the back of a truck and took him and his family to Episkopi - for his own safety of course. Sadly the UN could not transport all his sheep and goats as well so the helpful people who were left have been looking after them for him till he returns - yes that was it.

There is always "outcry" from the South, it is what they are best at doing!

Hopefully they wont just up and sell it for developement.

Distribution of the land is the easy part if they dont give them kocans they cant sell to developers job done.

As I drive around and view the vast areas of open space I wonder what all the fuss is about. I once asked my son what he thought of North Cyprus, he said it will be nice when it's finished.
