This is listed as a public holiday but falls on Sunday. Does anyone know whether they will have the Monday off e.g. Will the banks be closed on Monday 30th?

A military band was playing and a troop of soldiers marched and sung nationalistic songs at the monument in Kyrenia. The whole crowd joined in and the national anthem was sung. This was on Friday. Anyone know what was being commemorated?

That takes place every Friday changing the flags ceremony around 3.30 - 4 pm.

nobody has yet replied and i am also wondering if its business as usual tomorrow. does anyone know? or is tomorrow classed as a bank holiday?

I did speak to a local who said the Republic day was today ( Sunday) but 'probably' the banks and Beledeysi could be shut tomorrow.......so I will err on the side of not going to the bank tomorrow!!
