Family coming out next spring ask, if flying with Turkish airlines Heathrow / Ataturk / Ercan, having checked a stroller (pushchair) as hold baggage at Heathrow will they have the use of it at Ataturk or does it go through with the rest of the transit baggage? Anyone have any experience of this? Can't find an answer on the airline website.
Regards,
Brian.

There is a facility to email Turkish airlines on their website to find the correct answer. Although I suspect if it has been bagged/tagged as ramp/transfer it will go with the rest of the luggage that is also tagged. If needed it at Istanbul it would go onto the carousel with other Istanbul luggage which means you going through customs retrieving the stroller and then checking in again for your flight. Just my thought, happy to know if there is an alternative though.

Thanks for that. Just spoke to THY and told that it might be possible to access the item at Ataturk but would depend on the situation on the day. If they have few passengers needing assistance, for example, then we might be able to access the stroller, if not, it goes through as transit baggage. No problem. Son-in-law can carry him, just as long as I don't have to, my back won't stand it.
