My boiler man has disappeared, anyone out there who could recommend a gas boiler engineer to service and replace pump on my boiler. I am located west of Girne.

Thanks for that Papabravo. I'afraid I was not so lucky with Mr Pipe. Over four weeks, I made several phone calls and several texts but all to no avail. A man came and looked and that was the sum total, so I have told them not to bother, I will find someone else.

I use the company that originally installed my combi boiler 11 years ago - ARDIÇ - near the Bellapais junction / lights.

Cannot agree with you on Ardic, complete waste of time and very expensive with the repair not completed properly. Ended up going to Orhan who advertises in Cyprus today his number is 0533 877 5330. He speaks good english and have used him over the last years since I had the problem with Ardic and he has never let me down so far.

As I say, ARDIÇ installed my combi boiler - 'Baykan' brand - they're the main agents, stock all of the spares, know the thing inside and out, have turned up promptly and have consistently done a quick, efficient job whenever I've had to call 'em out over the last 11 years...

I used Urhan yesterday for the first time and was very impressed.He sorted out the issues following a routine service by Mr Pipe,who’s fitter spent most of his time on the phone while servicing the boiler- he left it in a right mess.

Will not be using Mr Pipe again.

Orhan (0533 877 5330) fixed our Bosch Combi-Boiler issues today, which turned out to be simply a combination of scale deposits within the heat-exchanger, and over-pressured supply from the Belidiye mains. However, he spent time testing our set-up, and making sure that the various internal components were functioning properly, and did not need to be replaced. Very satisfied with his work, manners, quick response to my call, and the very reasonable price for his services; I would certainly recommend him to others.

Orhan responded to my call for help. I rang him on Saturday morning, he was here Saturday afternoon. He spent a couple of hours trying to get the boiler going but to no avail, he tried with three mother boards and declared the boiler defunct. He arranged to bring a replacement second hand boiler on the Monday but was unable to fire it up as the Yapi markets were closed for the Bank Holiday. He arrived 9 o;clock on the Tuesday and spent all morning getting the thing installed and working correctly and informed me that although the replacement was not new, it was much better quality than the one which it replaced and this is proving to be the truth as gas consumption is lower and the heating is much more efficient. All in all an excellent workman who knows his boilers a and I do not hesitate to recommend him to anyone

Just a quick update to let you know that, as our Bosch Combi's Hot Water delivery performance had deteriorated since Orhan's visit, at the start of January, we decided to follow Whataview's recommendation in Post 11, and called Sahinsoy Ltd. in Lefkosa.

Their two technicians spent over two hours thoroughly checking our boiler, and making adjustments to the internal components - no-one else had ever given the boiler this detailed level of attention, and that includes the company who installed it, and were called in twice to address the issues, without fixing them.

Long story short, the boiler is now working far better than ever before, and we feel that we have finally found competent and capable tradesmen.

So, if you've had long-running problems with your Bosch (or other) appliances, give Ahmet a call on 0392 444 4410, and I'm sure that you will not be disappointed.
