We took our HSBC statement which shows our monthly interest from a savings fund. No real large amount just regular payment, that was fine.

If you have a pension paid in regularly then that is enough lump sum not required.

As long as your bank account is active, ie, money coming in and out, I believe that is enough.
I did hear a few years back that a lady had £6.000 in her bank, and had problems, as they asked what she actually
lived on, and where she got her spending money.

I agree with andrew.
There is nothing written down and it really does appear from experience by people we know that it is quite arbitary.
The general concensus however is that you have to be able to prove you have enough money to live on and will not be requiring to work in TRNC. ie simply having £6k in an account does not show capacity to support yourself.

I wish I knew my self and could help the lady. I've always considered it a totally nauseating part of residency application. As far as I'm concerned, it's just a load of particularly nosy policeman. It reminds me of the first car I bought here 8 years ago. I actually had to go (with a representative of the Lefkosa garage) to a particularly arrogant woman in an office ths side of a football pitch to show her my personal bank account had sufficient money to buy the car outright. The garage rep. aplogised over and over again, he said it was so embarrasing for him to have to take me there.
