Thank you Mick. Where is Alpha Mefa is it near the border crossing (i.e. Ikea, etc.) as I have only been over by car once and someone else chauffeured me . Also what would you expect to pay for a Dyson about 350 Euros or so?

It's actually 'Alfa Mega'

Turn right as you exit the road leading from the GC Customs point at the Metehan crossing, and go straight down to the traffic lights at the 'T' junction.

Turn left, and then take the second right into 'March 25' street - there's a shop called Corsa Italia on the corner.

Straight on, through the traffic lights and the entrance to the Alfa Mega Supermarket is on your left.

Here's a map...

They also had them at Super Home Store at the Mall of Engomi.
Through the crossing as directed above but at the traffic lights at the T junction turn right and then left at the roundabout. Stay in the right hand lane and turn right at the traffic lights. At the next set of traffic lights turn right and then take the first right and you will see the mall car park on the right hand side. They were upstairs once inside Super Home centre.

I think they are around 400 euro you could try phoning or emailing first?
Failing that try phoning John Lewis as when I enquired last year instore they said they would ship to other side even though it states on their website that they do not ship electrical items.
Other half went back anyway so bought one home with him & claimed the VAT back

We brought a Gtech one back from uk. Can't remember the exact cost but might have been around £200. Brought it through as separate oversize, which didn't cost anything. When we came through ercan, we were stopped at customs. I had taken photos of the item...and it was bubble wrapped....I explained it was for cleaning carpets.....customs guy asked how much? I think I said £150, he said £75? I said yes....cos I don't hear properly....lol...so no charge, and love it, but it does rip all of the pile out of your carpet...lol

My daughter in UK maintains the handheld one isn't anything as light weight as they make it look on TV Ads. Would be interest tp see what you think if you buy one.

The price was for the V6 wand type cordless you do not need the hand held as well as you just remove the long tube & fit the head on the motor bit.
They did also have the pull along one with a €100 discount i.e. €399 instead of €499

Sorry ozankoy, I meant the one that Dyson advertise when you detached the bottom half and left with the hand held bit.

Yes Sophie we have the V8 Absolute & even I find it very light to use!! No doubt your daughter is a lot younger though & possibly not made of such tough stuff as us oldies!
